Franzoni Filati was born as Cotonificio Franzoni in 1962 and thanks to a strategy continuously aimed at quality, service and technological innovation today is a leader in the production of Combed and Open End yarns, with a large presence both in the National and European market.

During the 40 years of its history the Group knew a continuous expansion, arriving to have its current 6 mills placed 4 in the North of Italy, 1 in the South of Italy and 1 in the South East of Turkey (Sanliurfa).

Today Franzoni is one of the most important spinning mills in Europe with a turnover of more than 120 millions of Euro and a production of about 40 millions of Kgs; Franzoni reached this position thanks to the continuous investments in the most sophisticated production, research and control machines and thanks to the development of absolutely new items with high quality.
In 1998 Franzoni introduced on the market Franzoni Futura®, a registered trademark which represents a new range of yarns with low hairiness and high resistance to abrasion and pilling.

In the next few years Franzoni launched also Futura® Seamless, Futura® Organic, Futura® Performa, Futura® Multi, Futura® MicroModal, Futura® ProModal and Futura® Modal-Cotton, Futura® Viscosa and Futura® ProViscosa, Futura® Flexis, a “core spun” yarn with an elastic core, and Futura® Maximizer, the new polyester yarn used to produce Coolmax™ and Thermolite™

Franzoni’s strategy has always been based on a great attention to the economic aspect of production, but Franzoni is now focusing also on service innovation and flexibility, because the market asks for high quality, a "just in time" service and a new marketing approach.

Franzoni is day by day more intentioned to extend its range of products and consequently is considering to diversify its manufactures taking into consideration that sectors where the raw material is always cotton.

At this purpose Franzoni Filati, with the help of some University researchers, has just adjusted some patented synthesis able to give the cotton fiber some plus which could be of high interest for hospital and pharmacological sectors, that means products with antiseptic, hemostat and anesthetic features.
